"David Hirsch has been one of the pioneers of the Sonoma Coast over the past 40 years. Hirsch has always given a Burgundian perspective to his vineyards, farming, harvests, and vinifies all plots seperately. These plots cover 72 Acres of land and were specifically planted to different clones based on their soil composition. Most of the vineyards lie 1500 feet above sea level, about three miles from the Pacific Ocean. The San Andreas Fault Estate, which gets its name from the famous fault line, just a half mile from the vineyard. This is Hirsch’s Flagship Wine. The 2017 San Andreas Fault is comprised of 28 different plots, blended to show the overall diversity, complexity, and elegance of the estate. The 2017 vintage of this allocated wine is characterized by bing cherry, rose petal, minerality, and a touch of oak spice on the bouquet. The body is medium, with a great balance of fruit and earth notes. Ripe cherry, cola, soft tannins, and oak subtleties. This wine is very accessible now but will age gracefully for the next ten years.!"
